Saawariya
Doestoevsky's "White Nights" inspired "Saawariya" is a dreamy tale of four enchanting nights when an aspiring musician Raj (Ranbir Kapoor) is smitten by a beautiful and enigmatic young woman Sakina (Sonam Kapoor) who happens to be in love with Imaan (Salman Khan) and is waiting for him to return.
Truly a dream debut for Raj and Sonam, they instantly became the nation's heart throbs.
Even though the movie wasn't a commercial success, Sanjay Leela Bhansali succeeded in creating surreal and dreamlike effect thanks to lavish and vintage sets, ornate costumes and mesmerizing music.
The all-black look of Sakina was stunning and enhanced her enigmatic appeal. To re-create Sakina's 'black magic', opt for a black outfit with golden embellishments. Instead of straight and narrow cuts, try flared silhouettes that render a dramatic look. Flared Lehenga-choli or Anarkali suit would be perfect. Pair of ornate danglers, finger ring and a nose stud are all the accessories that you would need. Complete the look with wavy perms and French manicure.
Rani Mukherjee as Gulabji was striking. Net saris or semi-transparent georgette saris in rich and vibrant shades featuring embellished decorative motifs throughout would be perfect. Pair it with danglers and bangles studded with matching colored stones or kundans. Complete the look with kohl rimmed eyes and a nose stud.
